Why is sugar so bad?!
Kristi Acuna, BSNU
Did you know that 2 tsp of sugar lowers your immune system up to 50% for 4 hours? When we ingest sugar into our systems as a part of our regular diet, we are creating a sugar craving that continues to nag at us until we satisfy it for the moment or until the next craving comes on. For most people, after dinner is when their cravings come on and they indulge in a cookie, ice cream, or cake. They figure just a little piece couldn't hurt. When you add up a few bites here and there everyday, it's taxing on your body's systems. Even after one day, your body starts looking at sugar like it's a constant destructive disturbance. It takes your body 14 days to detox toxic waste and material that you have eaten over time.
Eating lots of sugar can cause hypo or hyperglycemia, where you have low or high blood sugar. When you have hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar, that means you have an abnormally low concentration of glucose in the blood plasma. Hyperglycemia,or high blood sugar levels, is when you have an abnormally high concentration of glucose in your blood plasma. Some signs and symptoms include:
- irritability
- mid morning or afternoon headaches
- lethargy
- anxiety
- weight gain
- heart palpations
- excessive appetite
- eat when nervous
- get shaky if hungry
- crave sweets or coffee in the afternoon.
Consuming sugar on a daily basis could also lead to the overgrowth of Candida, parasites, bacteria and viral infections in your GI, which will cause disbyosis. Disbyosis means a lack of flora in your intestinal system, which makes room for the bacteria, Candida, or parasite to grow and cause inflammation to your GI.
When we consume sugar it stimulates parasite and Candida activity to hatch and re hatch in your small and large intestine. Symptoms include: bloating, constipation, dry skin, loss of memory, foul smelling gas, acne, fatigue, nervous stomach, diarrhea, loss of appetite, increased appetite, weight gain, bloating, diarrhea and or constipation
CANDIDA TEST:
Spit into a glass of water first thing in the morning, do not brush your teeth or drink any liquids. First morning spit and a glass of water is all you need. After you have spit into the glass, check every 15 minutes for an hour for spiny legs hanging from the top of the water heading down to the bottom of the cup. If you see legs, your positive for Candida and need to contact me as soon as possible so we can get on top of it today!
